This notice explains what personal information is collected through claireoconnor.uk, why, and what your rights are. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.

Who is responsible for your information

What is collected, and why

When you email about a speaking enquiry. Your name, email address, organisation and whatever you choose to share about your event. This is used only to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to plan and deliver the talk. The legal basis is legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, and taking steps towards a contract at your request.

When you visit this website. The site is hosted by WordPress.com (Automattic), which collects standard technical information such as your browser type and the pages you view, and may use cookies to do so. See “Cookies” below.

This site has no contact form, no mailing list and takes no payments. Your details are never sold.

Who your information is shared with

Only with the services needed to run this site and reply to you (website hosting and email), and with a speaker agency where you have chosen to book through one. Some of these providers may store information outside the UK, with appropriate safeguards in place.

How long it is kept

Enquiry emails are kept for two years after the last contact, then deleted, unless they need to be kept longer for accounting or legal reasons.

Cookies

WordPress.com sets some cookies that are needed for the site to work, and may set others to measure how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information held about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, or ask for its use to be restricted. To do any of these, email hello@claireoconnor.uk.
